.TH Command CHECKPOINT
.SY "checkpoint [<SECTS>]"
The checkpoint command allows you to grant access privileges to
other countries. Anyone knowing the checkpoint code can pass
through the sector or remove anything residing in the sector
provided you have not declared war on them.
.s3
To checkpoint all the sectors in the area saved in "realm 1" you would type:
.EX checkpoint #1
.s3
The program will request the code for each sector.
The code can be any number between 0 and 999 (inclusive) but if it
is 0 the checkpoint is removed...
.s3
A census report will indicate checkpointed sectors with a `*'.
.s1
Note that whereas most sectors are closed to general access unless
they are checkpointed (and then open only to people who know the code),
highway sectors are normally open to access from
everyone (i.e. anyone can move people in and, more importantly,
out) unless they are checkpointed (or you're at war with them).
.s1
Note also that foreign ships may not move into a
checkpointed harbor or bridge sector without giving the code.
