The happiness level of an Empire country is determined by
the presence of park sectors in the following way.
Whenever a park sector is updated and there are the proper amounts
of raw materials (usually light construction materials and money,
see "info products" for exact figures),
those materials are turned into "happy strollers";
for each group of happy strollers the happiness level of the country is
raised by 1.

The happiness level decays away with time however,
(all work and no play...), at a rate of 1% per 48 time units,
(i.e. 1% per day in games with half-hour time units).
Therefore if a country has 10 park sectors each of which is
supplied with enough materials and has enough workforce
to produce 2 groups of happy strollers a day the total national production
of strollers will be 20 groups per day and the
happiness level of the country will approach 2000, where the 1%
daily loss exactly equals the daily gain of 20.

Happiness is thought to affect many aspects of Empire life although
enlistment rate is the only strongly documented effect to date.

The "nation" command will display, among other things, your current
happiness level.
