Men2XNF8 may fail with the following error if you are targeting an XC4000L
device:

Error: 6 EDIF data "ifdx.eds" not found in directory
   "/usr/xact/data/unified/edif4000"

Fncsim8 or Timsim8 may fail with the following error on the same design:

   //  Warning: Instance: '/GIVE_ME_AN_E'
// Could not find a registered simulation model with
   label: 'xc4000'
// NULL model will be inserted. (from: Analysis/Digital
   Simulation Utilities/Dsim85)

These errors can be caused by a bug in these three Mentor tools that cause
them to mistakingly look for XC4000L schematic and simulation models in the
XC4000 libraries, even though the low-power device is logically equivalent
to the XC4000E family. These scripts should look for these models in the
XC4000E libraries instead.

These three scripts have been modified in this archive so that they will
recognize the "L" suffix and call up the "E" models accordingly. Have your
system administrator place them in your $LCA/com/sparc or $LCA/com/hppa
directory.

NOTE: Before you rerun Men2XNF8, Fncsim8, or Timsim8 again, you must remove
the "xnf" (Men2XNF8) or "default" (Fncsim8 or Timsim8) viewpoint so that it
can be rewritten with the correct family information. See Solution 766,
"How to delete a design viewpoint in Mentor 8," for instructions:
