Design Methodology Evolution

Xilinx recognizes that the way you design is changing.

Along with the increase in the density of PLDs, comes increasing complexity in your design.

The software must evolve to help you remain productive in this new environment

In this presentation, we will talk about the specific changes to the Xilinx tools that have taken place to support this design evolution.

High level design methodologies are becoming the methodology of choice for the design of complex programmable logic. As this approach is being adopted, it is clear that a programmable logic-specific flow is required. The flow must be built upon existing schematic-based design methods while providing an easy-to-learn environment for Hardware Description Language (HDL)-based design. These flows must provide high-quality, high performance optimized results and accurate, predictable timing. They must also afford fast, flexible design changes and iterations to match the way that engineers design.
