Q: Can any web browser be used to run the tool?
A: Any Java-enabled browser can be used, e.g., Netscape 3.0, Microsoft
Explorer 3.0 or Sun Hot Java.
Q: Who has access to the CORE Generator tool on the web?
A: Every LogiCORE PCI Master customer under maintenance can register
on-line to get access to the tool. Support for LogiCORE PCI Slave customers
will be added in later releases.
Q: How can Xilinx support customers that cannot use the CORE
Generator on the web?
A: The regular LogiCORE PCI packet including the CD is still available.
Future versions of the CORE Generator can be provided on CD.
Q: Which design environments are supported by the CORE generator?
A: Because the CORE Generator creates an instantiatable netlist,
the tool is EDA vendor independent. Xilinx has tested and documented the
flow using Synopsys FPGA compiler, but will add documented flows for additional
tool vendors.
Q: How will the intellectual property be protected?
A: The CORE Generator tool is executable on the LogiCORE VIP Lounge
(a password protected area on WebLINX) to which LogiCORE PCI users have
access. A demo version is available outside the protected area. This version
allows customers to explore the GUI and evaluate CORE options, but not
to download any design files.
