The Xilinx System Level Integration (SLI) options provide additional software products and technologies that enable designers to build complex, system-level applications with Xilinx programmable logic. Xilinx LogiCoreTM Solutions, the first set of products in this series, are high level functions that a designer can integrate into FPGA designs. LogiCore Solutions include fully verified and pre-implemented cores sold and supported by Xilinx as well as Alliance Cores provided by more than 13 third party partners. These solutions help system designers meet the need for faster time-to-market by dramatically cutting development time and design risk. The initial set of LogiCore modules includes fully compliant PCI interfaces. Future LogiCore products will include modules for DSP, telecommunications and other complex logic applications. For each LogiCore function designers receive design files for HDL or schematic entry, constraint files, simulation models, a test bench or bus exerciser, data sheets and a comprehensive user guide. Since the functions are pre-implemented, the core will meet timing requirements and provides an optimal implementation. As a result, a designer can focus on the unique, value added portions of the design. This provides a dramatic savings in engineering resources and a significant acceleration in time to market.
