Purpose

Today's programmable logic users are required to create significantly larger and more complex designs than ever before. Additionally, as competition intensifies and time-to-market windows shrink, the need to implement designs effectively while meeting agressive schedules becomes paramount. Xilinx recognizes that for engineers to be successful, they must have access to the best and most appropriate tools for their projects. The Xilinx Alliance is structured to assure our customers access to the widest variety and highest quality of third party tools that are certified to work with Xilinx products.

Xilinx is the leader in programmable logic and recognizes that quality technological solutions and innovation are the result of teamwork. The Xilinx Alliance, which was formed in January of 1991, is the oldest and largest alliance program in this marketplace. During the past six years the Xilinx Alliance has brought together more than 100 partners, representing over 160 products, who have been selected for their contributions to Xilinx development and their responsiveness to customer needs.

The Alliance supports these partners with technical information and assistance on an ongoing basis and in turn the partners provide Xilinx with input regarding partner interface requirements and direction. Both Xilinx and its partners recognize that product interoperability is a requirement for our mutual customers. Xilinx has invested a large amount of its development resources to support industry standards, such as EDIF, VHDL, Verilog, VITAL and SDF making it easier for our partners to work with Xilinx software and hardware. This technological teamwork provides the most integrated and complete development solutions in the market today.

Alliance Categories

The third party tools provided by Xilinx Alliance Partners cover a wide range of methodologies and technologies. Currently the Alliance is using five categories to describe these tools:

EDA Alliance Partners - These are design tools used for schematic capture, synthesis, and simulation. Visit this website for an online catalog of the products from these EDA vendors as well as contact information.
AllianceCORE - A cooperative effort between Xilinx and independent third-party core developers designed to produce a broad selection of industry-standard cores dedicated for use in Xilinx programmable logic. On this website, you will find a listing of the AllianceCore Partners with contact and company information as well as the cores they are providing.
RADD (Reconfigurable Architecture on Demand) Alliance Partners - The devices and tools in this category enable in-systems dynamic reconfiguration of FPGAs.
