Synario Design Automation, an autonomous division of Data I/O, is a worldwide supplier of highly integrated Windows-based EDA software. Synario provides an easy-to-use, top-down design system that accelerates the design process and enables designers of programmable ICs and printed circuit boards to meet time-to-market demands.

Knowing that designers need to be armed for the design task at hand, Synario offers a complete suite of best-in-class tools as well as an abundance of embedded design and device-specific information. Designers can be assured Synario Device Kits are tailored for the chosen vendor’s architectures.

The power behind the Synario Design System can be attributed to its Project Navigator. After the designer selects a device, the Project Navigator presents the steps required to design, simulate, synthesize, and place-and-route the device. Synario users can move from entry to implementation in minutes, even when targeting an unfamiliar device architecture.

To support traditional or top-down design methods, Synario provides unsurpassed mixed-entry support along with functional and timing simulation options for both Verilog and VHDL users. Synthesis capabilities that compliment device-specific technology mapping are also available.

Finally, there’s a top-of-the-line Windows-based EDA system every bit as capable of workstation-based solutions.

Xilinx-Specific Highlights

Design Flow

Designs can be expressed in schematics, ABEL-HDL, VHDL, or graphical state machines. Both schematics and HDL entry support all device constructs and specification of place & route constraints. Functional simulation can be performed immediately after entry.

Synthesis is performed on HDL modules or graphical state machines taking into account Xilinx-specific attributes. Output from all sources are optimized Xilinx Netlist Files (XNF). Xilinx place & route software can be invoked and controlled from within Synario’s Project Navigator. Full back annotation for timing simulation is supported.
