Problem Description:
How can I make XACT 5.2.1 work with Mentor Graphics' B.x release?


Solution 1:

Although Xilinx will not officially support Mentor Graphics' B.x release
until early 1997, Mentor Graphics tested the XACT 5.2.1/Mentor B.1
combination in April 1996 and found that, for the most part, the two
software sets interface reliably with each other.  Gen_sch8 and XBLXGS,
however, were found not to work properly under B.1 due to problems
associated with dynamic linking to Mentor's Design Data Port (DDP).

For information on error messages caused by this incompatibility, see
((Soln 739)) and ((Soln 786)) for SunOS (fails with "call to undefined
procedure"), or ((Soln 1245)) and ((Soln 1246)) for HP-UX (fails with
"Unresolved Propagate symbol").

A patch is available which fixes the problems associated with Gen_sch8 and
XBLXGS.  The patch may be downloaded:
