Xilinx has made a 25 percent equity investment in a state-of-the-art foundry to be operated by United Microelectronics Corporation in Taiwan. These fabs use standard CMOS manufacturing processes to ensure reliable, predictable delivery of silicon wafers to Xilinx. This `fabless strategy' allows Xilinx to focus on designing new product architectures and software, and it gives us access to the manufacturing processes that best serve our customers.

Our commitment to customers worldwide includes a complete and uniquely accessible array of services and support. A team of factory-based applications engineers forms our core support organization. Another 300 field application engineers (FAEs) throughout the world bring answers directly to our customers, doors. They also offer design evaluation of new projects, close consultation through the design process, special training and new product presentations.
